eDesign Academy

Now also from your home!

The groups of eDesign Academy will meet on Mondays and Tuesdays at Google Meet. Evening group on Mondays at 5–7.30 PM and day group on Tuesdays at 10–12.30 AM. The theme of autumn 2023 is "The Stone Age and the birth of design". During the semester, we get to know the basics of design using natural materials!

In eDesign Academy you can study Degree on Basic Education in the Arts emphasized in Design as in all other Design Academy groups but online. Every lesson consists of theory based on our theme and concrete design practices. For taking part of eDesign Academy, you need an internet connection, computer and/or smartphone, sketchbook and materials for different subjects. Tuition is carried on as a Google Meet conference. You can participate alone or collect your friends together and come along as a group!

Note! Teaching is mostly in Finnish.

The Stone Age and the birth of design

Primitive forms and functionality have been part of the creation of the design since the beginning.

During the semester, we get to know the basics of design through elements familiar from the Stone Age. At the beginning of the timeline of the history of Finnish design, the senses are opened to design and natural materials are utilized.

The course fee for the autumn semester of eDesign Academy 70€ / under 30, 100€ / adult.

Participation to eDesign Academy as a group 350€ / group (6–10 participant)

The course fee includes tuition and theory materials used during the course. Participants prepare for equipment and materials needed in the lessons.

The autumn semester consists of 17 lessons, 42,5 hours in total (2,5 h/lesson).
